Soda or Pop - cricut block party

I made this little note card to send to my uncle.  He is obsessed with coke products.  I cut the bottle out of vellum and used the cricut cartridge block party.

Baby Cards

I made these quick cards today with the imagine. I used a new cart called Theresa Collins Baby Boutique. You can't really tell by the photos but all the layers are pop dotted. Very simple but cute.

I just got my imagine out the other day after months of it being stored away. I had to finally change my ink cartridges. I was on the same ones since launch. I did get some interesting prints though. I thought the colors were supposed to be more muted then i realized I was out of black ink. Here are some photos of the weird results I got

Cookies for Santa

For this layout I used paper from DCVW Nanas kitchen collection. The images are from the cricut cartridge From my Kitchen. The font is Don Juan for the "cookies for." The "Santa" is gypsy font welded

Tinkerbell birthday Party

My daughter is turning 7. Today is her party. Here are a few things I made for the party using the tinkerbell cartridge.

The treat boxes are made using the pillow box cut from the Easter cartridge. I used my gypsy to hide the bunny and then added a filigree cut of tinkerbell on top. My 7 year old told me to cut and put everyones names on theirs but I was to lazy to do so!

The purple box is one of her gifts. I cut tinkerbell out at fit to page on the expression and did that. My 7 year old once again inspected my work and asked me if I messed up on tinkerbells eyes! LOL I said thats the best i could do kiddo!

The purple vinyl cut I put on the bathroom mirror just for todays party. :)

We are using tinkerbell plates, cups and tablecloths too. We are also having the green punch! Tink juice. Thanks for looking. Enjoy!

Preschool Days

This is a photo from two years ago. I'm a little behind. I used my gypsy to design this layout. It was nice having it all planned out before I started. I used all mixed up for the ABC and 123. The scissors are actually from the Disney princess cartridge called Happily ever after. I used the search feature on the gypsy to figure out if I had a cartridge with a pair of scissors on it and it brought up the Disney one. I was surprised and would of never looked there. I also did a search for "apple" and found a lot of cartridges have apples on them! I ended up picking the apple ha ha... from the cartridge doodlecharms. Even though it is one of the older cartridges I think it has one of the best apples!

More whiff of joy cards and lacey labels

Here are two more cards I made using the new lacey labels from Cricut. I love this cartridge for card making. The two images are both whiff of joy and colored with copic markers. Thanks for looking

Which Cricut Cartridges are Retiring

Q. Which cartridges are retiring?

A. Here's a list:

- Blackletter
- Christmas
- Sans Serif
- Street Sign
- Stamped
- Tags, Bags, Boxes and More
- Printing Press
- Paper Pups
- All Mixed Up
- Christmas Cheer
- Makin' the Grade
- Mini Monograms

Is it a sad thing or a good thing that I already have all these except Sans Serif? I really love printing press and think its very under rated. It makes great titles. I love paper pups too. The rest I could live without if i had to but i'm glad I dont :)

Cricut fonts and ttf equivalents

I found this website that lists free TTF fonts they found that match the cricut fonts. I think Provo craft should come out with a CD of all the fonts in TTF format so we can use them with our journaling. I like to have my journaling typed on the computer and printed out to use on my scrapbook pages. Wouldn't that be a cool cd? Of course they would never do that do to programs like SCAL.

Anyway here is the link if you're interested.

gypsy tip!

So, I learned something new about my gypsy today. I thought I would share on my blog assuming that I'm not the last person in the world to know this.

Ever wish you could see the images on your gypsy bigger? I knew that I could hold my stylus over the keypad to see a slightly larger image. BUT if you hold in the top silver button while touching the image it becomes screen sized. Who knew?

lacey labels+me=love

Cricut has come out with some new Lite cartridges. On first glance I didn't see a lot I liked. The new ones seem a little repetitive to me. Maybe that means I own too many of the old ones! One that did catch my eye was the Lacy Labels! I love these. I see so many uses for this cartridge in card making. Look over nestabilities. I am super excited about this cartridge.
ok, so there isnt a lot of detail to these cards...they were quick and simple. I am just happy to be making stuff again and I'm trying not to stress myself out over things being just so. Anyway... Here they are.

the image is by whiff of joy. I colored it with copics.

Here is another one i made really fast to play with the layers. I cut them out wrong as I wanted the flowers to be red and the stems green...but i glued it together anyway.

my tribute to Cricut

I've been stamping so much i've been ignoring my favorite tool in the world! MY CRICUT EXPRESSION! I really love this machine. I've dabbled in almost every other die cut machine out there but the cricut has been my favorite hands down. Take these 7 dwarfs above. I cut those out and for my daughters 5th birthday party and they are 14 inches tall. They made great decorations. I love that you can adjust the size and cut out images in almost any size you want.

above is a poster i made for my daughter..it is huge. maybe 2 ft by 3 ft? It is the standard size of a poster. I pieced together 12x12 paper and put it in a poster frame I got from walmart.
It was fun..of course kennedys room is decorated in lil mermaid. She is a princess afterall.

Next is a frame for Andrews room. He has a cars theme. We also had a cars birthday party for him but I was so busy with school I didn't get a chance to make my own decorations..ugh.

This I made at CHA.

Last but not least this is how I store my cartridges. This is a plano flip slider I bought. It is meant to hold fishing tackle. My cartridges fit fine but it was hard to get them out of the slots. So, i got out my crop a dile and added a hole for ribbon to pop out the cart.

Mama Said there would be days like this.... Printing press

Well, this is a layout I did two years ago but I'm still wanting to share cricut layouts with you.

The journaling basically talks about my struggles and joys in being a stay at home mom.
I took strips of one sheet of pattern paper and broke it up along the edge of the other square of pattern paper to add interest. I wanted the focus to be on the journaling and photo so i didn't add a lot of embellishing on this page.

USED:
Junkitz pattern papers
Bazzill Cardstock
Quickutz mini arrows
Bazzill Brads
a Trusty journaling pen
Cricut - Printing press

I really love printing press and I don't think it really gets the attention it deserves. It is a great font!

Here is another page I did using printing press. Isn't the varied font cool?

The White Stuff... Graphically speaking.

I think this is the only thing I have done so far with the Graphically speaking cartridge. :) I hope to break it out and use it more.

What will Cricut come up with next? more clues added

If you're one of my crafting pals than you know I'm totally obsessed with Cricut products by provo craft. Last year when I went to CHA I spent a good amount of time ooohing and ahhhing at the provo craft booth. I'm so bummed that I wont be attending this year.

Anyway, when you go on Cricut's message board they give clues about their next new release. i guess they are planning a big release at CHA. The clues sound fun and i'm so curious what it is.

1. This thing is touchy but it never gets mad
2. Roam if you want to, roam around the world
3. You may have to power down during takeoff
4. Colors, Shapes, Designs! Oh my!
5. now you can create on the go, anywhere.
6. Carry all your cartridges at once. (say what?? I'm listening...yeah!)

7. Power it on and you're on a design road trip
8. the crop will be redefined
9. This thing knows how to easily locate all your art.

10. Like doing things your way? You'll love this.

I'm soooo curious! I'm not sure what it is but I'm sure i'll have to have it. lol

So, what do you interpret the clues as meaning? Leave me a comment and let me know.

A nurse magnet i cut out today and exploring scal more

Well, I have been looking for more and more SCAL files over the last few days and starting folders to store them in. I have found some awesome blogs along the way and the cutest files! I got SCAL probably about a year ago but havent had much time to play with it other than fonts. So, its summer and I don't start working for another month...perfect time right?

So, I was sitting at home...kinda feeling sorry for myself today. We just fixed my husbands car and mine was in the shop today for an estimate. Turns out it had an additional problem. There not only was a hole in the exhaust but it was also leaking coolant fluid. Being that we paid off my car in April of course we would have a $1000 repair bill. UGH! Does it ever end? We have to get it fixed cause we are driving it to Texas here in a few weeks.

ANYWHO.... I checked my email and had an email from The scrapbook Lady who made a file for me per my request!! WOW! :) I was super happy and felt special and almost all was well with the world again. lol Takes very little to make this scrapbook girl happy. Wish my hubby understood the effect scrapbook supplies can have on the soul! :) lol

There is a link to her website in my side bar or you can click HERE

She makes some of the best SCAL files out there. Very smooth and easy cut files that still have detail but are not hard to cut.

So, anyway...i cut out this cute file of a nursing cap and title and made a magnet for our fridge. So now my husband will even know who is in charge!

If you haven't got SCAL yet what are you waiting for? Its awesome. Click here to go to the SCAL website.

Sure Cuts a lot

For those of you that don't know there is a program out there that you can use with your cricut called Sure Cuts a lot or SCAL for short. They are not affiliated with cricut at all but designed the program on their own. This is a program that will let you download any ttf font to your cricut machine and cut it out. The possibilities are seriously limitless!

There is a blog HERE that has a girl that has made some of her own files of precious moments cuties! I love precious moments and since cricut doesnt make a precious moments cartridge you can download her files and cut your own. Check out her blog as she really has some cute stuff!

Here is another blog with some awesome medical files as well as sewing and cooking! I love them! Thanks Scrapbooklady for the work you did on them. To see her blog click HERE

Also, if you are not familiar with SCAL you can click HERE on there link to learn more about them. It is really a neat program.
