First Stitch fix box

I have been really into subscription boxes lately. I hate going shopping and I love mail so sounds like win win to me.

So, I found out about stitch fix and thought I would give it a try.

How does it work?  Basically you go to their website and fill out a style profile.  They ask you all kinds of questions and show you photos to get an idea of your style.  You pay $20 for them to put together a box of 5 items for you.  You can pick nothing or keep all 5 items.  What you pick out you pay for minus the $20 styling fee and put the other items in a prepaid envelope and mail it back.

I was a little skeptical because I wear a 14/16 and the largest size they have is a 14...but I signed up anyway.  Maybe that will be motivation for me to lose more weight!?!

Here is the link if you want to check it out.  If you create a profile through me I get $25 off my next purchase!  sweet huh?   STITCH FIX

You can sign up monthly or just get them a few times a year.  I will tell you they are pretty popular right now so your first fix may take a few months.

I received five items

The first item was a really lightweight chevron infinity scarf.  I loved this but it was pricey.  My husband didn't like it so it went back.  I love chevron and i've loved scarves lately so this should of been an easy choice. It as a light minty green too...ohhhh Kinda regretting sending this one back

The second item was a Chris & Carol zig zag top.  I loved this.  In fact I had pinned it on my pinetrest board.  They will look at your pinterest board for inspiration!

Next up was a navy cardigan from the brand Splendid. I loved the tab-sleeves on this.  I was not happy about the price of this cardigan but I had to have it.  The material was great and it was so soft.  Plus it went great with the zig zag top above
The next item was my favorite item in the box.  That was the Pomelo Corinna striped dolman top.  I dont think I've ever owned a dolman style top and I have to say I loved it! I've already worn it this week and plan on wearing it on Sunday too.  The material is so hard to describe.  Its actually a minty green with black stripes.  I loooove it! The photo doesn't really do it justice. With it i'm wearing a Heather Belle tassel necklace that I received in a past pop sugar must have box.

There was only one item that didn't fit and that was the Filbert 3/4 sleeve popover blouse.  When I saw this i really wanted it to fit too. It was cute and had some nice details.  I have large upper arms and it was super tight on them.  It was a great color that didn't show up as nice in the photo.  Thats what I get for using my iphone instead of my real camera

Here it is with the scarf
Here is a photo of me wearing the zig zag top and cardigan.  I hate full body photos of myself..ughhhhh  So, if you like seeing me wearing the clothes let me know and maybe i'll do more with my next ones.  I am getting another one the first week of may.

 STITCH FIX

They also include a styling card for each item they send you telling you how to dress the piece up or down.  I obviously didn't do either but I appreciate the suggestions for a fashion dummy like me

Came across this while looking for stitch fix reviews. Not a fan of reviews when people just show the pictures on the hangers because I can't get a good feel for the piece. I like the picture with you actually wearing the clothes so as long as you're comfortable, that's an awesome way to do it.

I also came across this while searching for stitch fix reviews. Don't be ashamed to snap pictures of yourself! You look great! I'm personally tired of seeing skinny girls who aren't my body type modelling the clothes - what looks good on them might not look good on me (and vice versa). I want to see real women, and part of treating yourself to fabulous new clothes is gaining confidence in what looks great on YOU! So please consider taking the plunge and ROCKING IT! :)
